The Seventh Trumpet Plague, the Third Woe

Revelation 11:15-19 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.   On face value the seventh trumpet seems to be an anticlimax.   There are some voices in heaven, the 24 elders worship YHWH, the nations are angry, the wrath is to come. Notice what else is revealed in verse 18 – it is the time of judging the dead so that the prophets and saints may receive their reward. 1 Corinthians 15:52: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible,...

The Sixth Trumpet Plague, the Second Woe

Revelation 9:13-21: 13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor...

The Fifth Trumpet Plague and First Woe

Revelation 9:1-12: 1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots...

Four Trumpet Plagues

The first four trumpet plagues are all physical events which are divinely orchestrated to start the supernatural punishment of those on the earth.   The First Trumpet Plague Revelation 8:7: 7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.   The 1st trumpet plague is the remnant of a near miss by an asteroid. Asteroids are made of ice which accounts for the hail and the fire is the ice burning up during the passage through the atmosphere. This event is different from the 6th seal stars falling to earth (meteors which are rocks). The pieces of the asteroid are so massive that large parts of them survive the atmosphere and strike the earth with immense force. This causes 1/3 of the trees and all the green grass to be burned up.   In 1908, a rocky meteoroid less than 100 meters in diameter is believed to have entered the atmosphere over the Tunguska region of Siberia. The resulting shock wave knocked down trees for hundreds of square miles around the impact site.   The Second Trumpet Plague Revelation 8:8-9: 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.   This section of Revelation is describing...

The Seventh Seal – Prelude to the Seven Trumpet Plagues

Opening the seventh seal of Revelation heralds the seven trumpet plagues. Revelation 8:1-6: 1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.   Obviously the seven trumpet plagues follow after the opening of the seventh seal which allows us to continue to develop our end time timeline.   The period of silence in heaven could be a literal 30 minutes or if this is a prophetic period this would equate to 15 days on earth. In prophetic understanding we apply the day for a year principle, one prophetic day equals one 360 day year (twelve 30 day months) in earthly terms. The Messiah told us that there are 12 hours in a day, hence one prophetic hour equals 30 earthly days. Half an hour must therefore equal 15...

The Sixth Seal – The Day of the Wrath of YHWH

If we read chapter 6 of the book of Revelation in one sitting we could assume that the 6 seals are opened in quick succession. However, when we understand the meaning behind each of them it become clear that these 6 seals are opened over a period of 6 years.   The first four seals are opened during the first half of Daniel’s 70th week. The fifth seal is opened at the mid-way point, three and a half years into the final 7 years of human misrule of the earth. The sixth seal is opened a little over 2 and a half years after the tribulation starts.   Revelation 6:12-17: 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For...
